Responsible for the management and operations of corporate IT and global SaaS data centers in support of our customers, which included 20% of the Fortune 500. • Leveraged VMware vSphere features to create a disaster recovery site in our corporate data center for all production systems. Using vSphere and newly developed tools from our engineering department fully restored sites could be built in less than 24 hours including tape delivery and restore. The standard SLA was 4 business days.
• Built proof of concept and QA VMWare labs on ESXi 3.5 which lead to adoption of VMware across the entire organization.
• Planned and managed migration of 150 servers, hosting customer applications, to new data center including backup, upgrades and standardization of systems.
• Managed staff of 7 engineers responsible for corporate and data center support as well as software releases.
• Implemented a global, multi-site Active Directory to connect data centers in the US, UK, Singapore and Australia.
